About calvary kids

We're Glad You're Here!

THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING TO WORSHIP WITH US!

Here at Calvary, we believe that God’s Word is life-changing, not only for adults but for our little ones as well. That’s why we have put a high emphasis on all ages being able to study and learn God’s Word.

We offer a Nursery for babies and toddlers and Bible teaching classes for 2-year-olds through the 5th grade. We think learning about Jesus should be fun! That is why for the hour and 15 minutes that your child is with us, they will worship, study the Word, engage in fun activities related to the teaching, and learn how to apply God’s Word to their lives.

We are also committed to systematically teaching your child through the Bible. By the time they have completed our children’s ministry program, they will have potentially been taught the entire Bible!

Again, welcome, and thank you for choosing Calvary Knoxville to be your home!

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

We know that change can be hard for our little ones, that is why we have added a few of the question parents frequently ask us about our Children’s Ministry. If you have a question not answered here, please feel free to reach out by either calling our church office or email us.

Can my child sit in the sanctuary with me?

Our adult services are geared toward ages 12 and up. Once a child has completed children’s ministry (5th grade), they move-up into the adult worship service for our Saturday, Sunday morning, and Sunday evening services. On Wednesday evenings we enourage 6th-8th graders to join the Rhema Jr. High youth group.

Shouldn't we worship together as a family?

The answer is YES! We encourage and educate families to worship together daily at home. However, because children learn at different levels and because we love children, we have made every effort to provide an appropriate learning atmosphere for each age group. We want church to be fun, understandable, and applicable at every age level.

If we are new can our children sit in the service with us?

We understand that not having children under 12 in the sacntuary may be a new concept to some families, that is why we allow first-time visiting families to worship together in the sanctuary or to attend their child’s classroom for the first week to help them feel more comfortable.

When do children move up to the next grade?

Children in Kinderdarten through 11th grade move up to the next grade on the first Saturday in June.

How does Check-in and Check-out work?

At Check-in each child will recieve a name tag, which they much wear for the duration of the class. The parent or guardian checking the child in will recieve a Secuirty Code Tag (SCT) that matches the code on the child’s name tag. The Secuirty Code Tag must be presented to each volunteer doing checkout at the end of service. The volunteer will verify that the codes match and realse the child. If a parent or guarian has lost the SCT the Children’s Ministry Director will need to be contacted.

Who can Check-Out children?

To ensure the safty of each child in our children’s minisrty, only the person with the Security Code Tag can check out the child who has a matching code on their name tag.
