meals' ministry
"Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:9-10
How many people in church are in need of being served? Individual family needs are infinite in any church body. Everyone finds themselves, at one time or another, unable to prepare a meal. Perhaps someone is moving, a new baby has joined the family, or a loved one is having surgery. These are just a few of the possible instances where someone could be blessed with a meal. The Meals' Ministry serves the body in this way.
It may seem like a simple thing, not noticeable to many. However, a meal is a great way to exercise the gifts God has given you. Sharing food with others, whether you take it to them or share it in your home, is one way we try to practice hospitality and care for those in need. The blessing is shared in the fellowship of believers. Those who receive are blessed and you are blessed in obedience to God.
If you have been given the gift of encouragement or the gift of giving, then the Meals Ministry is a great way for you to exercise that gift and be a blessing to others.
It is the mind set of serving because you realize the blessing God has already given you, that makes preparing a meal a privilege.
"Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality." Romans 12:13
